Information about our Markos MC39
The MC 39 was built by Markos Yachts, when Van Markos was in business he was considered by many the best builder in Vancouver - even better than Spencers. The MC 39's he built are extremely stout & well finished. He sold mouldings as well as Caveat Emptor. He built lots of the Maple Leaf 42's for Svends yachts. He also built the Perry designed Reliance 37 which was built and marketed as a very high end boat to compete with the very best. They remain very pricy but rare.
The 39 is based on an Al Mason design and makes a very nice long distance boat or liveaboard.
El Sueno was built in Port Coquitlam By Van Markos in 1979. Launched in 1982 El Sueno lived a good life in the Vancouver area. Moored for several years at Shelter Island Marina in Richmond BC, El Sueno moved to Eagle Bay until December 2016 when We purchased her and brought her back to Shelter Island until we head south to warmer climates. Over the past 2 years we have done a complete refit of elSueno. She is ready to go south as soon as weather and finances permit. The list of items in the refit is so extensive, listing them would require another site! Below is the current state of fitment on our beloved ElSueno.
